Blurbomat’s Case for an Apple Tablet

I am a Jon and Heather Armstrong fanboy, so it should come as no surprise to you that I think Jon’s “The Case for an Apple Tablet” is one of the best articles I’ve yet read on why an Apple tablet makes sense.

Since Marlo [their second child] came into our lives and I’ve spent countless hours in a position that is not laptop or desktop computing friendly, I’ve spent a lot of time on my iPhone using it as my main computer. During supervised naps (we’re sticklers about SIDS) I’ve been reading Infinite Jest on my Kindle and on the Kindle app for iPhone.

It should also come as no surprise to those of you who have known me for any length of time that I agree with Jon’s assessment that Heather’s tale of the birth of Marlo (found in three parts here, here, and here) is “one of the best things she’s ever written.” I happen to think Heather Armstrong is one of the best storytellers I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing or reading a story by.

There is just an insane amount of talent living under that one roof—I mean, have you seen what their dog Chuck can do?—and I can’t even imagine what their children are going to be like when they grow up. It’s insane, I tell you: insane.
