The 365Songs Live Stream

As far as I know, I am the only person still in the 365Songs game (though I believe Jon Martin of Songs That Saved Your Life might make a comeback in the new year). And so, it falls to me to do something super-cool to cap off the challenge.

If you’re not familiar with the concept of 365Songs, here’s how Jon summed it up when he began the thing in early 2009:

What I am proposing is this: A mix tape for the whole year.  Built day by day, song by song, until it records your own year in a way that might very well be fun at New Year’s parties and in years to come.

And here, my friends, is what I’m going to do to celebrate having completed the challenge. Provided UStream cooperates with me, I’ll be livestreaming, both here on this page and over on my UStream channel, the entire 365 song playlist. It spans 24 hours precisely, and will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2009 and end at around 12:00 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2010 (depending on how long it takes the stream to buffer and such).

This may fail spectacularly, but we’ll see. Even if it only works for a portion of the time, that’ll still be great, no?

I’ll also plan to comment on the list as it plays throughout the day on Thursday.
