Five Second Critic 005: The Social Network
In this episode, I ask The Social Network director David Fincher a question he’s probably never heard before.
Watched it and still confused? Here’s Five Second Critic for Dummies:
Prior to the rise of Facebook, the social network MySpace dominated the social networking space. Prequels and sequels are a favorite method in Hollywood for cashing in on the success of a proven idea. Hence, it seems like a perfectly reasonable idea to ask director David Fincher when we might see a prequel to The Social Network focused on MySpace. After all, it’s only a matter of time, right?
And, once that makes big bank at the box office, it’s still my hope that we’ll get a Friendster pre-prequel. I mean, why haven’t they thought of that yet, right?
