The Order of The Chronicles of Narnia on Film

Just yesterday, we were speaking with our friend Leslie Poston of Magnitude Media about the right way to read C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia—Leslie preferred the published order, as we recall. Now comes news that the fourth film in the Narnia film franchise will be The Magician’s Nephew, creating yet another order to consider consuming Lewis’s story in (Nephew was published sixth and is chronologically first).

Narnia fans, what do you think about this? We haven’t seen the film versions of Prince Caspian or The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but we did enjoy The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Given the mediocre results these flicks have seen at the box office, it seems strange that studios are continuing to make them, but does the quality warrant all seven books being adapted? Let us know.
