Don’t Sleep on X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

With a period Captain America film out on July 22 and Thor movie just a couple of weeks away — it drops on May 6 — it’s been pretty easy to sleep on X-Men: First Class, the Matthew Vaughn-directed prequel to the X-Men trilogy that’s set in the 1960s.

But, as has happened with Captain America, every new image or trailer for First Class has upped the ante and the expectations. Take, for instance, this new sneak peek:

Banshee! Beast! Kevin Bacon! Seriously, what’s not to love?

We have no idea how they’re going to make this fit into the timeline established by the trilogy and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and we’re not even sure that they’re going to try — there’s an Emma Frost here in the 60s, for instance, and another, younger one in the 70s or 80s, whenever it is that Wolverine was set — but we’ll be in line to see X-Men: First Class on June 3, regardless. How about you? Will you see it? And if you do, how much (if at all) will you care about continuity?
