I suspect long-time friends and followers will shudder when I say this and go, “Yeah, that’s what he said last time,” but here goes:

I just finished what I believe to be the final version of the novel. It clocks in at 51,770 words and it will no longer be called Down the Cape. The title, as much as I love it, just doesn’t fit anymore, for reasons I’ll get into eventually.

Sure, it needs to be re-read and edited and run by some readers (let me know if you’re interested) before it goes out to agents, but this is about as good as I’m going to get. After 10+ years, I’m ready to let go.
