Geek Force Roster Change - 04.07.2009
It’s been a few weeks since we had ourselves a proper Geek Force Five roster, hasn’t it? The tournament has been fun, but it’s winding down, and it’s time to get back to business. So, that being said, here (a little late) are your five for this week:
- Nine Inch Nails are back on the Geek Radar this week, thanks to an upcoming iPhone app and an interview with Digg’s Kevin Rose, so we finally get to bring them back to the Five. Needless to say, I am very excited about this.
- Also exciting: The Cut&Paste Tournament is one of several strange competitions we’ve heard of recently. Held around the world, it is a tournament for digital designers. Tara Walker, who I first met at New Hampshire Media Makers (the place to be if you want to write for this site, I guess), provides coverage from the recent Boston stop of the competition’s tour around the globe.
- A few weeks ago, adult film star Nikki Benz discovered the post that I wrote about her and her Twitter activity back in January. A flood of traffic followed, including visits from other adult film stars, like Vicky Vette (the girl rocking the I *heart* Geeks t-shirt in the header). So, this week I’m going to talk (at least once) about the dangers (and benefits) of having a mild obsession with people making adult film.
- And, speaking of dirty obsessions, Jimmy Fallon has given us the perfect excuse to talk about one of our filthiest preoccupations: Saved By The Bell. The late night host has begun a campaign to get the cast back together, and we’re going to do our part by looking back at how that show made Saturday morning’s so great.
All of that, plus the conclusion of the tournament!!! Stay tuned.
