James Cauty Shows Us True Cartoon Violence

Putting a new, disturbing spin on our childhood memories seems to be the artistic meme of the moment. Witness the work of James Cauty, who, inspired by a suggestion from his son, has created a short film and a series of illustrations based on popular Warner Brothers and Hanna Barbera cartoon characters. Cauty’s concept is “the violence that cartoons leave out” and his work is bloody and disturbing and wonderfully gruesome.
