Jimmy and Celine
The following reflection was written in 2003, when I was between 25 and 26 years old.
One afternoon, in the days just before the Spring semester was to begin, I went up to Newburyport and picked up Jimmy from the house he was staying at over break. We went to the Mall at Rockingham Park and later to took in a film, probably in Lawrence, but maybe in Lowell. It was the second time I’d seen it, but Jimmy wanted to see Titanic and I dug the movie too, so that’s what we did.
There’s not much else to say about this memory, except that every movie I saw in the Winter of 97/98 I saw three times. I only saw three movies during that period: Titanic; As Good As It Gets; and Scream 2.
I wonder if Jimmy remembers anything else about this day. Maybe he’ll come by and post something in the comments section.
