Andy in Sabrina Fair

The following reflection was written in 2003, when I was between 25 and 26 years old.

A couple of us in the band got together to go see Andy Hicks act in the Westford Academy production of Sabrina Fair on the same weekend that we were scheduled to do a show at Temple Beth-El in Lowell, something Ken had set up. I don’t remember much about the show except that it confirmed my belief that it was a good thing I’d never spent money to see the film adaptation of the play starring Harrison Ford.

It wasn’t that the play was acted horribly. It was just that it didn’t seem all that exciting. Andy was pretty good in it and the rest of the cast did well. There was at least one attractive girl in the bunch and I immediately, as I always did in those days, spent much of my attention on her performance.

After the show, Andy signed the inside of my pink program and wrote, “Never 4-get” in reference to the new song we’d just written. I still have that program becuase I am a packrat and I save everything that ever meant anything to me.
