Speedwrites 3000 Unlimited
Today, when faced with the choice of reading stuff for my upcoming MFA program or reading a couple of the comic books I bought yesterday, I chose to read my comic books. This week I will begin reading and rereading the stuff for my first residency, but the weekend is for fucking around and that’s what I did. In addition to reading a couple of comics I spent some quality time with the batch of songs I’d been writing last year and I printed the two stories I’ve been working on as of late.
So, Sunday was all good and the weekend was pretty okay despite the overwhelming lack of social interaction. There’s not much to talk about or complain about. I don’t want to go back to work tomorrow, but when does anyone ever want to go back to work on a Monday?
I think I’ve used that exact sentence before. I am truly lame.
It’s still a little too hot in our apartment despite the fact that it’s been rather nice most of the weekend. I’ve just opened the window in our office in an attempt to not sweat to death in this room. I don’t know if it’s working.
I really dig these two stories I’ve written for the residency. Stephanie is going to take a look at them and see what’s wrong with them. Right now I can’t see what’s wrong with them. I just think they’re good.
I neglected to mention that Friday night I picked up two new CDs — Liz Phair’s Liz Phair album and Audioslave’s Audioslave album. Both are good but Liz Phair just rocks my ass harder — especially her song H.W.C. I won’t even get into what the acronym stands for. If you’re really interested, look it up. All I’ll say is that I was pleasantly surprised that Liz still has a very dirty mouth.
