Vacation @ Paul’s

The following reflection was written in 2003, when I was between 25 and 26 years old.

We were probably at Art & Sandy’s for my Mom’s birthday but I’ll get into our visit with them tomorrow. Today I’d like to take a moment to talk about our last adventures in Disney and a short visit with my Dad’s cousin, (also my godfather), Paul and his family.

I don’t recall too much about the visit except that it was towards the end of the Disney portion of our trip and right before we went off to Art & Sandy’s for the last couple of days. I could be wrong about that too, but let’s trust me for a second here, okay?

I don’t think I had a single memory of my godfather. I’d certainly not seen Paul in years and when we walked into his house the only way I knew it was him was because he was the only adult male there. That’s how unfamiliar with the guy I was. He was cool though and his family as well and I recall having a decent time there as my Dad and him shot the shit.

I think the day we visited with Paul might’ve also been the day we spent some time at Blizzard Beach, one of the Disney waterparks. I’m not sure about that either. I do know that when we were there I didn’t swim. I didn’t even dare to take my shirt off. I just sat in the shade and read or something.
