Thanksgiving in Maine
We had Thanksgiving dinner today at Stef’s Mom’s place near Sebago Lake in Maine. It was a nice, small gathering. The food was good and everyone seemed to be having a good time. As always there was lots of talk about houses and school and careers. There was some talk of babies, though not as much. Generally, there was a lot of talking and this was good. I do love Stef’s family. Though I missed my own family terribly, it was a good day overall.
I’m not sure what more to say about that part of it. After we ate dinner and a small amount of dessert at Julee’s, we headed towards Portland to spend the early evening with her dad’s side of the family. They had amazing blueberry pie there. Together with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was amazing. It was good that Stef and I decided to ignore our respective diets during the four-day weekend.
We hung out with the kids and marveled at Steve’s digital camera (remember, we’re thinking of getting our own) and took our first peak at Stef’s newest, smallest cousin, who was sleeping. Then we drove back to her mom’s for the night.
I believe that some of the inhabitants of the household decided to watch X-Men on DVD but I went right to bed.
