In case you hadn’t noticed, I have been very nervous about my job lately. Today we had a bunch of meetings to help a new hire get acclimated and I felt better than I have in quite some time about the whole situation, which is not to say that I felt good about it, only that I felt better.
After work I drove over to my parents’ house to say goodbye to John, who is headed back to California on Tuesday. I hung out for a little bit, dropped off some recycling that’s been clogging up our dining room, and then said my goodbyes. It was good to see him again this year and I’m glad it’ll only be half a year till I see him again. We’re all supposed to be going to a cousin’s wedding in June.
I continue to stress out in preparation for the upcoming MFA residency. I have lots of fellow student stories to read and reading for the seminars to do as well. It’s coming down to the wire and I kinda wish I had the whole week to prepare. It’s just been too nutty a semester and holiday season.
