I’m a Streetlight Shining

Someone from high school came in for a second interview at my work today. They made a point of bringing her by my office to say hello and that was really cool. I got to thinking, though, that I really hope she doesn’t read this page, because I’m sure she needs the job and I wouldn’t want my bitching to sway her decision to take it if it’s offered. The problems I have with work sometimes are personal problems. They’re often unique to me. Some people do just fine at the office, and I’m sure she would. Anyway…

I listened to Erik’s advice, and Heather’s advice to listen to Erik’s advice, and I allowed myself to simply relax at the end of the day. It so happened that relaxing this afternoon involved reading a bit more of Dark Tide. I did eventually play a game of Madden 2004, but I didn’t feel guilty about it.

We watched Friends while eating dinner and then I ended up dozing off on the couch, leaning against Stephanie, as I so often do. My Mom used to fall asleep on the couch after long days all the time. I guess it runs in the family.

Have I related that anecdote before? I apologize if I have. I’ve been doing this for so long, I can’t remember which stories I’ve told and which stories I haven’t.
