A Messy Page
This page is going to be a mess for a while. I decided not to wait till I had the whole thing ready to update. I’m going to update it piecemeal instead. That way, it will actually get done. I have this problem with just putting things off again and again and again. I don’t want to do that anymore. So, today I got rid of Who’s Who and I updated the homepage. Tomorrow I’ll try to get the entry pages looking good. Maybe a month from now it’ll all be working.
Of course, if you’re using a really old browser it probably is completely unreadable. Oh well. That’s your problem. I’m building pages that are standards-compliant and should look roughly the same in all standards-compliant browsers. If you’re still using Netscape 4.6, then, well, I’m sorry. Go get a new browser and, probably, a new computer while you’re at it.
I get frustrated when making these changes and I did tonight. It’s because one little thing can totally fuck up your page. Tonight there was this little bug that I had to go into the publishing program to fix. Usually you just deal with these external templates they give you to mess with. This time I had to go into the actual code of the program that runs this place and fix the problem there.
The plus side is that the homepage is now XHTML 1.0 Strict. The downside is that I screamed a lot at my computer and I elevated my blood pressure more than a person ever should when dealing with a silly web page.
