On The Threshold

At around 8:30 AM this morning, I finally opened my advisor’s mailed response to my last writing submission. I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of the suggestions he’d made were things I had already begun to incorporate into my most recent revision and that those things I hadn’t yet incorporated were not major. His words were encouraging and I got right to work.

I have four chapters worth of material left to type back into the computer, but I’ve done all the line-editing by hand already. That’s what I did today. So, when Wednesday comes around and I have my next day off, I’ll be all set to fly through it and get my this full draft of my thesis out on time.

I had considered beginning to type those four chapters tonight, but I’ve decided to let myself watch the Oscars instead. I haven’t done anything fun or frivolous for an extended period of time in quite a while. And I think that with Chris Rock hosting, these awards might actually be interesting to watch.

We’ll see.

But, the good news is that I’m almost there with this thesis draft. I didn’t think I’d make it, but I’m on the threshold.
