A Much Better Use of Our Time?
I wrote a really whiny opening paragraph just now and then I erased it. We’ll all be better off that those words will never see the light of day, and you can thank me for that later. For now, let’s focus on coming up with something to write about. I need something to write about that won’t cause me to whine or bitch or moan. That excludes a whole helluva lot of the things I write about here on a regular basis. Still, I’m sure I can come up with something.
I could talk about the box of Dunkin Donuts Munchkins that my boss brought in yesterday that I’ve been munching on for the past two days, but that would probably get me going about my weight and how my face has started to look as fat as the rest of me has started to look.
I could talk about the nifty new plugin I found for Expression Engine, which will allow me to link to the Who’s Who entries much more efficiently, but that would probably get me going about how I have no time for frivolous things like adding features to my website.
And, I could talk about how I don’t think Stef and I should go through with fertility treatments because I have no time for myself with the schedule I keep, let alone a child, and also because the only jobs she’s finding in her job search are in Boston and pay shit wages, which means, not only would I not have the time for a kid, but we also wouldn’t have the money. We barely have enough money for ourselves.
I could talk about any one of those things but instead I’ve chosen to talk about why I won’t talk about them. And I think that was a much better use of our time. Don’t you?
