Getting Ready to Go
So I’m updating the site at 11:28 in the morning. What’s up with that huh? Well, I’ll tell you. In about thirty minutes Stef and I are leaving for Niagara Falls to celebrate our first anniversary. That means that this here site isn’t going to get updated again till Sunday night at the earliest. But don’t you be thinking that I’ve forgotten about my promise to write every day. I haven’t. I will be taking my laptop with me and writing on the road so I’ll have plenty to post when I get home. I am almost halfway to my goal of writing every day this year and I’m not going to let a silly thing like a vacation get in the way of that.
Truth be told, I did consider the fact that I wouldn’t be able to access this here computer every day for all of 2002. That’s why I did my major site upgrade. It incorporated a program that allows me to post entries from any computer with internet access. I installed that program for occasions just like this.
So why aren’t I taking advantage of it?
Well, for one thing, we’re staying on the Canadian side of the Falls and I’m not sure how internet access works in another country. I have no dialup account at present either. Jon and I were working on a server that might someday allow me that benefit but it’s not done yet.
And for a second thing, this is my anniversary. I will write each day but I’m not going to go to a lot of effort to get to a computer with net access when my primary focus should be on my wife. Anniversaries are for wives not for webpages.
Anyway, I’ve got to stop writing now because we’ve got to pack up and get going, but I hope all of my loyal readers out there have a wonderful weekend and if someone happens to notice that they’re the 90,000 visitor, please take a snapshot and send it to me and I’ll promise to give you something really cool.
