Game 111 - Sox vs. Rangers (W 11-6)

The Sox open a six game homestand tonight, beginning with a three-game set against the Texas Rangers. Texas is 7.5 games out of first in the West and 7.5 games out in the Wild Card race. But, as past experience has proven, the record of a team in another division probably doesn’t bear much weight when it comes to determining the Sox’s chances of winning a game against them. And, seeing as the Rangers are playing in the West, where you will currently find not one, but two of the best teams in baseball (Los Angeles and Oakland), it seems fair to say that they’ve probably been beaten up a bit more than most.

In any event, it should be interesting to see if the Sox can get back on a roll after avoiding the sweep yesterday.
