Yadda Yadda Ya Ya
In the May 2002 issue of Maxim magazine the editors had this to say about the upcoming film, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood: “If your girlfriend forces you to see this ultra chick flick, we can only advise oner course of action—morphine.” Now what I find myself wondering is: if i am even the slightest bit interested in this movie, does that make me less of a man? If I find something interesting that Maxim declares girly and sort of weird for a guy to like, what does that mean?
Now I have no great faith that the movie will be anything special. For every supposed “chick-flick” I dig there are a half-dozen I loath. But I do have a sensitive side that rears its pretty head more often than most penised Americans. I must say that I’m intrigued by this movie. It seems a little hoaky, but that’s alright. I haven’t been to see a hoaky movie in quite a while.
Yes, I am interested in seeing Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. I admit it. I’m not interested in it on a Star Wars level or anything, but I am interested.
I was extra-sore today. Getting back into exercising is taking its toll. Part of it really, is that I don’t have the right equipment. My shoes are worn. I need a new pair. That’s first and foremost. I don’t really need any special sweatpants or shirts or anything. I just need new shoes. The ones I have make my feet and my lower back ache like hell.
Tonight I finally got back to my weekly habit (addiction) of watching Ed and The West Wing. I’ve missed so much of what’s been going on on those shows. I hope that they replay them a bunch during the summer. I love the TV that’s on Wednesday nights.
After those two shows I flipped over to MTV to check out the latest episode of Making the Video, featuring Eminem. I’m a big fan of Eminem and I love his new song. I’ll be on top of that record the day it comes out. It doesn’t hurt that he’s sampling an Aerosmith song on it.
Anyway, those are my scattered thoughts for today. Tune in tomorrow for something hopefully more coherent.
