ALDS Game 3 - Sox vs. White Sox (L 5-3)

It’s over, but I’m refusing to get all negative up in here. Look, they weren’t going to win the Series again. It was going to end badly, and it was just a matter of when. This way, I think we get out early and we can protect our memories of last year. Had we run up against the Yankees again in the ALCS and lost against them, it would’ve been disaster. People would start to wonder if last year was a fluke. That’s not what we want.

In the end, we did what we could with what we had. I would argue that we actually did more than we should’ve been able to do, given our injury situation. With Curt gone most of the year, Clement slipping in the latter months, and Boomer pitching in pain every start, who was our #1? Who was our #2, for that matter? But we still tied the Yanks for best record in AL East. Only a tiebreaker kept us from “officially” sharing the top spot.

Let’s root for the White Sox now. I feel like that city is one we can and should get behind, given the fact that they’re looking to break out of their own almost century-long slump. Our Red Sox ran into a better team this week, and there’s not much else to say about it.

So, that’s it for this season. I can’t really believe I ended up living up to the promise of an entry a game, but here it is. I hope it was enjoyable in some small way.

How long till pitchers and catchers?
