The #1 Song The Day You Were Born

We called the doctor’s office and the induction is still on for 10 a.m. So, having been up for a while, I’ve been looking for something to keep myself amused in the meantime. One thing I just remembered to check was what the number one song on Billboard is this week. My dad, a former disc jockey (of parties and things, not a radio jock), can recite from memory what songs were on top when both John and I were born. Not a big rap or R&B fan, Dad had been concerned that something really shitty would be topping the charts on the day Kaylee was born.

Well, Ne-Yo’s “So Sick”, an R&B song that I just discovered yesterday morning on the drive to work, and a song that I actually almost like, is atop the Hot 100. James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful”, a song which only annoys me half of the time, is atop the Top 40/Adult Contemporary chart. And “Every Day Is Exactly The Same”, by Nine Inch Nails, is atop the Modern Rock chart. Can we guess which one I’ll be telling Kaylee was atop the charts the day she was born? Hmm…
