“We have not forgotten, Mr. President. You have.”

I’ve been posting a lot of YouTube videos lately, but that’s because there’s a lot of good stuff over there. My old pal Andy pointed me in the direction of this one in his recent blog post “Ten Reasons Not To Kill Yourself”.

Whether or not Mr. Olbermann’s commentary presents a compelling argument to, as the immortal Freddie Mercury once sang, “keep yourself alive”—well, I’ll leave that to others. After all, the picture he paints is quite bleak, and shows no signs of brightening up anytime soon. But, regardless, this piece, which I hadn’t seen until today, gives us a reason to retain at least a small shred of faith in the media. A very, very small shred, but a shred nonetheless. I didn’t know it was possible for a journalist on television to be this honest, this biting and brutal.

In fact, I didn’t know it was possible to be a journalist at all on television anymore. Thanks to Mr. Olbermann for reminding me it was possible.
