Anisa and Bill were together for ages before Stephanie and me became Stephanie and me, but it just wasn’t the right time for them to get married until now. On a cold November afternoon, on the banks of the Saco River, in front of family and friends, they made it official. It was a short, simple, and beautiful ceremony, emblematic of the relationship I’ve watched develop these ten or so years that I’ve known them. And though I spent most of the day shuttling people through the woods in our Honda Element, from Julee and Mike’s house to the ceremony site and back again, I did get to partake in the festivities a bit myself. The food—the pulled pork sandwiches, direct from an on-site smokehouse, were a highlight—was delicious, the company happiness-inducing, and the day an absolute success.
