The Tent

It’s really scary when the tent goes up. When the tent goes up you know it’s almost time. When the tent goes up the numbers in Academy don’t matter any more. The four years you spent fearing this…

Bradford Commencements never happen without rain, and so they always bring in a tent to shield us from it. For years. Tradition. When I walk to brunch in a few minutes, I’ll walk through the tent, where in two days, I am responsible to speak on behalf of my class, for my class, and to my class.

If ever there was a time to be melodramatic, now is that time, so forgive me. It’s all over in two days. Time to start saying my goodbyes.
